Seguimos reclutando nuevos aventureros y espadas de alquiler para adentrarnos en las calles ruinosas de Mordheim. Ya sabéis de nuestro amor por este juego de especialista de Games Workshop, y con motivo de la nueva campaña que hemos iniciado aquí en el Norte, no he podido resistirme y pintar algunas de mis últimas adquisiciones que hice hace cerca de dos años (justo las Navidades antes de la pandemia). En la campaña actual estoy jugando con unos ricachones de Marienburgo (los héroes) que han contratado los servicios de unos veteranos estalianos (los secuaces). Así que me he centrado en esta banda a la hora de pintar las nuevas figuras.
Primero he pintado un espada de alquiler que conviene incluirlo desde el principio: el vagabundo. A nivel de juego no hace realmente nada, ya que tiene unos atributos ridículos, pero en la Fase de Exploración proporciona un dado adicional. Para representar el vagabundo he utilizado una de las miniaturas clásicas de Mordheim de la turba enfurecida. La idea ahora es colocar una calcomanía en papel que tiene colgando y que se lea «Make Mordheim great again». Tras rechazar pintarlo a mano, el bueno de Scumb4g kustoms me ha preparado ex profeso unas calcomanías (en diferentes versiones y tamaños) para el papel y otra para el pergamino o sello de pureza. Además de añadir una nueva tanda de nombres para las peanas cuadradas de mis figuras. En dorado para los Marienburgueses y Estalianos, y en plateado para los Cazadores de Brujas. ¡Estoy deseando que me lleguen! Recordad que ya hablamos de este servicio de personalización de calcomanías aquí.
La siguiente que pinté fue otro espadachín estaliano. De esta tanda es la que más me gusta. Hice una transformación muy sencilla simplemente poniéndole una espada y una mano para darle un poco más de vida a la pose muy poco dinámica de la figura (originalmente los legionarios de Pirazzo iban con picas o ballestas). Le pinté el gambesón acolchado de color blanco simulando un ichcahuipilli de algodón o fibra de maguey mexicano. Y para darle una nota de color le pinté las plumas de un tono aturquesado y los pantalones de un rojo muy vivo (usando las pinturas de Kimera, que son canela en rama).
Y el último de esta nueva tanda ha sido otro mercenario, el explorador Halfling. La miniatura original de Mordheim no me gustaba mucho, así que opté por usar otra de la gama de Dogs of War de Warhammer Fantasy (había un regimiento de renombre solo de Halflings). Para pintarlo decidí seguir la misma paleta de colores que use para la gente de Marienburgo, con una tríada muy intensa de rojo, azul y amarillo. Desde luego no es el mejor camuflaje para ocultarse en Mordheim.
Y el siguiente que me gustaría pintar (y posiblemente el último de esta edición) será… un eslizón camaleón. Precisamente utilizando una de las miniaturas que más me gustaba cuando empecé con Warhammer y hombres lagartos hace unos cuantos lustros: Oxyotl. Hace varios años conseguí las miniaturas originales de Oxyotl y Tehnuini (el profeta), y las he tenido metidas en una caja desde entonces. Y aunque la nueva miniatura del camaleón de Underworlds es preciosa, tengo una conexión especial con el antiguo Oxyotl. Lo llamaré Huichilobos (la versión castellanizada de Huichilopoztli, el dios tribal azteca).
